FFT's Euro Picks: Paul Parker, celebrities and S.League stars

Euro 2016 is about to get underway. So we at FourFourTwo decided to ask some well-known Singapore-based identities with European ties for their tips on who will win it all, who will crash and burn and who will run away with the Golden Boot...

Paul Parker, ex-England international

1. What are your memories of past European Championships?

I was a young lad and remember watching the final in 1976, when Czechoslovakia and Germany went to extra-time and penalties. Panenka won it with the most famous penalty of all time. It was so good, they named it after him.

1. What are some of your memories of past European Championships?

In 1992 when Denmark won against Germany in the final and took the trophy. I was only six years old, but I still remember the euphoria in all of Denmark.

2. Who do you think will win Euro 2016?

France. They have such a strong team and they have players who have won their respective leagues playing at a very high level. Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kanté for example. And I’m looking so much forward to seeing Kingsley Coman and Antony Martial.

Poland. They have amazing players like Robert Lewandowski, but also an upcoming star like Arkadiusz Milik from Ajax.

5. Which country will be the biggest disappointment?

Germany. Everyone’s expecting them to go all the way and they are a good tournament team. But they have injuries in their back line and have been letting easy goals in during the last warm-up games. Expect them to concede goals on free-kicks and corners.

6. Who will win the Golden Boot and how many goals will they score?

Olivier Giroud from France because I think they will go all the way and he has world-class assist-makers on each wing. Six

7. Who will win the ‘player of the tournament’ award? Kingsley Coman
