Gallery: Selangor Selection 2 Singapore Selection 1

It was a memorable Saturday night in Shah Alam as a near capacity crowd watched Singapore and Selangor do battle on the pitch. FourFourTwo was there to witness the action firsthand...

A Paulo Rangel brace was enough to earn the Red Giants their third Sultan of Selangor Cup in three years, as the Singapore Selection came close but failed to upset the hosts.

Leonel Felice (Geylang United) had hauled the visitors level with a brilliant free kick in the second half, but Hafiz Sujad's dismissal on the stroke of halftime meant that the Singapore Selection were battling the odds to the end.

The earlier game between Selangor Veterans and Singapore Veterans had ended 1-1. Annuar Abu Bakar had opened the scoring for Selangor, but the evergreen Steven Tan slotted a penalty to earn his side a share of the spoils after Fandi Ahmad had been brought down in the box.
