Footballing great Lothar Matthäus, who captained Germany to victory in the 1990 World Cup, is coming to Singapore this month to help launch the start of the new Bundesliga season.
As part of his visit, FourFourTwo has been given exclusive access to sit down and interview a man who has a record that few figures in the history of world football can match.
So how does this relate to you?
FourFourTwo are asking our readers to nominate questions that we can put to this footballing colossus.
It could be anything from his greatest moments as a player, his knowledge of Asian football or what he ate for breakfast before a World Cup match!
The first ever winner of the FIFA Player of the Year award, which he claimed in 1991, Matthäus played in a record five World Cups between 1982 and 1998 and is the most capped German player of all time.
He also has an extraordinary record at club level, including no less than seven Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich and a Serie A crown from his time at Inter Milan.
If you want any further proof of his abilities, Diego Maradona famously labelled Matthäus “the best rival I’ve ever had”.
The 2015-16 Bundesliga season will signal the start of the first full year of a partnership between the league and Fox Sports, who will be broadcasting matches in Singapore and Malaysia.
Matthäus will be in Kuala Lumpur on August 13 and 14 before stopping in Singapore on August 15 and 16 to help promote one of the most exciting football leagues in the world.
“The Bundesliga is growing internationally and I am looking forward to meeting Bundesliga fans at stops in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to celebrate the quality of football being played in the league,” Matthäus said.
So give it some thought, come up with the questions you’d love to ask a football legend, and we will publish the questions and names of our favourite ones.
