Gary Koh takes a look at ten local players who will have a point or two to prove in what is potentially a big 2015 season for them and their respective clubs.
Shahfiq Ghani (Young Lions)
Once touted as one of the brightest talents in Singapore, the 22-year-old playmaker has not enjoyed the best of recent seasons with local Malaysian Super League representatives LionsXII. A return to Courts Young Lions presents him with the best chance of salvaging his stuttering career.
On his day, he is the country’s best playmaker par none when the team is centred around him. Capable of the sublime with his trusty left foot, this could well be the year when he rediscovers his golden touch.
When his displays click, the team rumbles with confidence, and Young Lions will be looking forward to his inspired displays in the final third.
