Crowd trouble mars Malaysia-Vietnam match

Hooliganism reared its ugly head during the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup semi-final first leg match between Malaysia and Vietnam.

Vietnam secured a valuable 2-1 win at the Shah Alam Stadium but their fans’ celebrations were cut short right after the match ended.

A group of home fans were sighted invading the away section and attacking the Vietnam fans, forcing the security force inside the stadium to intervene.

However, the damage was done as a few fans were injured.

Various Vietnamese news portals reported that Le Hung Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), has already demanded that action be taken against the perpetrators before the return leg takes place at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi on December 11.

The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) and the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have yet to comment on the matter.
