Tiger Street Football 2014 ambassador Deco says the tournament reminds him of his childhood spent playing football with friends in the streets, as the second leg kicked off in Mongolia.
The two-time UEFA Champions League winner was speaking at a press conference held in Ulaanbaatar before the event kicked off on Friday morning.
"Football competitions today are very professional, what Tiger are doing here is very different," he said.
"This tournament is like playing football with friends in the streets, it reminds me of when I was a kid kicking a football with friends.
"I think this spirit, this way of enjoying football is beautiful."
Deco also spoke about how this was his first trip to Mongolia, together with the fact he did not know much about football in the country and had been surprised by the amount of love people had for the game here.
"I am very happy and honoured to be here. This is my first time here, and I must say thanks for having me in Mongolia," he said.
"I'm sure we'll have an exciting day today, and I'm looking forward to sharing my experience with these fine young players."
This year's Tiger Street Football tournament will see some radical changes, with the cage that surrounded the playing area in the three previous editions being removed and the pitch size increased to encourage more expansive, creative play.
Fans will get to vote on rule changes at uncagefootball.com with matches also being broadcast live throughout the region on Fox Sports and streamed live on the campaign website.comments
