Kelantan supremo Tan Sri Annuar Musa hopes that Saturday's match with the LionsXII will be postponed following the passing of Tok Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
The former Chief Minister of Kelantan passed away yesterday at the age of 84 after a long battle with prostate cancer.
In light of that, Annuar hopes to reschedule the date and time of the match against the LionsXII to allow the Kelantan players time to mourn for the well-respected religious teacher.
"I will be grateful if Singapore [the LionsXII] and the Football Association of Malaysia [FAM] can agree on postponing the upcoming match by a day or two for us to pay respect to the late Tok Guru," Annuar posted on Facebook.
"We have also lost Dato' Hasbullah Awang and Dato' Haji Wan Mohammad Najib [a Kelantan FA exco member].
"May [God] bless their souls."
It is unsure whether or not the match will be postponed, but it has been confirmed that a minute's silence will be observed in all Malaysian Super League and Malaysian Premier League matches before kick-off this week to pay respect to Nik Aziz and Hasbullah.
