Team EVO earn trip to Anfield

It has been a testing few years for Liverpool fans with the club’s last silverware coming in the form of the 2012 English League Cup but nevertheless, Anfield has always remained a must-experience pilgrimage for football fans with the stadium described by many to be one of the best in the world.

By beating off competition from 47 teams at the Standard Chartered Trophy 2016 Singapore Qualifying Tournament, Team EVO will soon embark on a very, priceless journey to Anfield.

Courtesy of a 2-1 victory in the final of the five-a-side tournament at Jalan Besar, watched by former Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise,  Team EVO earned themselves an all-expenses-paid trip to Liverpool in April.

There, they will compete as Singapore's representatives against other teams from Hong Kong, India, Kenya, Korea, UK, US and the UAE on the famous Anfield ground.

The team will also have the chance to participate in a training session at the Liverpool Academy and watch the final home clash of the season against Watford FC at Anfield.

Team EVO has participated in the Standard Chartered Trophy for the past five years, though this is their first time winning the Singapore Tournament.

The team comprises employees from logistics company EVO Lines (S) Pte Ltd, a long-time client of the bank.

“We are absolutely delighted to have won the Standard Chartered Trophy 2016 Singapore Tournament.” said EVO Lines (S) Pte Limited director and captain of Team EVO Roysten Tan,

“It's really a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we are looking forward to going to Anfield in April.”

The Standard Chartered Trophy is part of an enduring partnership between Standard Chartered Bank and Liverpool FC as part of the Bank’s commitment to engage effectively with their employees, clients and the community at the same time.
