Warriors FC coach Alex Weaver has been handed a suspended three-month ban after a Football Association of Singapore disciplinary hearing on Tuesday evening.
The Englishman was cleared of three charges of approaching Hougang United goalkeeper Fadhil Salim while the player was still under contract, but was found guilty for comments made to the media about the player.
Hougang United had reported the Warriors and their head coach to the FAS for tapping up their unsettled goalkeeper, with a proposed move for Fadhil breaking down as a result.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper still had a year to run on his contract, but was reportedly a target for the S.League champions after Singapore No. 1 Hassan Sunny left in the off-season.
Although Fadhil was supposed to turn up as a witness, he failed to show at two seperate disciplinary hearings and the charges against Weaver were subsequently dropped.
Weaver's three-month sentence will be suspended till the end of the current S.League season.
