Ian Wright has given Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud his stamp of approval, and feels the Frenchman will in time prove his critics wrong.
Giroud joined Arsenal in 2012 and has scored 41 goals in 94 league appearances, but has had his share of detractors who feel that he is not good enough to lead the line for the Gunners.
Wright is second on Arsenal's all-time top scorer's list, and was a Highbury favourite during his playing days. The 51-year-old spent eight seasons with the Gunners, netting 185 times to put him just behind Thierry Henry.
"I love Olivier Giroud. He's been fantastic," says Wright, speaking to FourFourTwo.
"He's improved year on year he's been here and he scores goals.
"As long as he can have people around him who score too, like Alexis (Sanchez), (Mesut) Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and (Alex) Oxlade-Chamberlain, he'll do even better than he's doing now.
"I like him, he's a very good No. 9, he's always improving and he scores all sort of goals.
"So I'm very pleased with Olivier and hopefully he will prove a lot of people wrong in future."
