Countering a team that press high up the pitch

Movement is the key to breaking through enemy lines, says former Norwich City gaffer Chris Hughton

Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola, has led the Catalan club to almost unprecedented success, but by his own admission they're weak defensively.

"We play in the other team's half as much as possible because I get worried when the ball is in my half," he says.

More after the break

"We're a horrible team without the ball so I want us to get it back as soon as possible and I'd rather give away fouls and the ball in their half than ours."

By pressing high up the pitch Barcelona ambush the opposition and hijack the ball, but how do you overcome this siege tactic?

Former Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton says "brave movement" from your central midfields can help you create space and evade the battalion of would-be tacklers.
