• Eintracht secured their only German championship with a win against Nürnberg. On the final day of the 1966/67 season, Braunschweig beat Nürnberg 4-1 to celebrate the greatest achievement in the club's history.
  • Braunschweig and Nürnberg have met each other 20 times in the Bundesliga (nine wins for Eintracht, eight for Nürnberg). The last meeting came in the first round of the German Cup in the 1987/88 season when FCN ran out 3-2 winners in Braunschweig.
  • Braunschweig are the only team in the league without a point after the first four fixtures, and have scored only one goal. This has happened four times in the Bundesliga before, most recently with Hansa Rostock in the 2007/08 season. Only two of the four teams were relegated come the end of the season.
  • Eintracht have not won any of their last eight competitive fixtures (two draws, six defeats). Their last win, one that resulted in their promotion to the top flight, came on matchday 31 last season with a 1-0 win in Ingolstadt in the second division.
  • In the last 12 Bundesliga games, Nürnberg have conceded at least one goal. March 16th, 2013 was the last time FCN kept a clean sheet (3-0 win against Schalke).
  • Braunschweig and Nürnberg are not only occupying the last two spots in the table, but also have the lowest possession figures (Braunschweig 39%, FCN 40%).
  • Nürnberg have already allowed 85 shots on their goal, a joint league highest along with Bremen. Braunschweig are close behind, allowing 82 shots. Only Bremen have had fewer clear-cut chances (0) than Braunschweig (1) and Nürnberg (4).
  • Norman Theuerkauf has already picked up four yellow cards. The last player to be suspended after the first five matchdays because of accumulated yellow cards was Rostock's Rene Rydlewicz back in the 2001/02 season. Theuerkauf could be the first Bundesliga player to pick up five yellow cards in his first five top-flight games though.
  • Torsten Lieberknecht is without a win in four Bundesliga games as Braunschweig manager. All other Eintracht managers had picked up their first win by the fourth matchday.
  • Daniel Ginczek is the most unfortunate player in the league; in 4 games, he has already hit the post or the crossbar three times.
