Five MSL imports expected to leave for good

The Singapore international is not the worst of imports around, but neither has he been satisfactory, hence Safuwan is uncertain of his future in Malaysia following PDRM’s relegation and talk of a reduced budget in 2017.

Safuwan was made captain at PDRM midway through the season for his commitment to the Cops, even while playing in an unfamiliar attacking midfield role.

Yet the fact that he is not Malaysian may work against him. There were not many suitors when Safuwan was on the lookout for a MSL club following the LionsXII’s exit and it was simply because options are aplenty for teams.

MSL teams, who pay among the highest in the region, have been prone to look outside Southeast Asia to fill the Asian quota.
