22) Namat Abdullah

Equally at home either as a right-back or left-back, Namat Abdullah was famed for his overlapping runs, thunderous shots and long throw-ins.

Allied those with his competent leadership qualities, Namat provided stability to the Prisons and Penang teams of the early 70s.

Succeeding M. Chandran in wearing the armband, Namat captained the side that bagged the 1974 Merdeka Tournament and the bronze medal in the Asian Games in Tehran in the same year.
