How do OKS's Tigers compare to previous AFF Suzuki Cup sides?

We are part of The Trust Project What is it?

2014

Coach: Dollah Salleh

Captain: Shukor Adan

Biggest win: Malaysia 4 Cambodia 1 (Friendly)

Biggest defeat: Tajiskistan 4 Malaysia 1 (Friendly)

Form heading into Suzuki Cup: LLWLL

Preparation heading into the competition was among the worst as Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) only appointed Dollah Salleh in July despite ending K. Rajagobal’s tenure at the end of 2013.

Dollah only had five matches to prepare his squad and the results were far from satisfactory as Malaysia lost four of their five matches – including to tournament rivals Indonesia and Vietnam. Malaysia’s only win came against lowly Cambodia.

The former Malaysian striker’s call to include players such as Azizon Abdul Kadir, Muslim Ahmad and Afif Amiruddin came under fire.

Fortunately, Dollah’s decision to recall Shukor Adan and Indra Putra Mahayuddin eventually paid off as the rest of the squad turned to the veteran for guidance and managed to finish runners-up to a superior Thailand squad.
