Negri Sembilan vs Kedah

Sun August 28 | Paroi Stadium | 9pm

Last Meeting: Negri Sembilan 2 Kedah 0 (MPL; August 14 2015)

Form: Negri – WLLWL; Kedah – LWWWW

Summary: Kedah will know well that their Malaysia Super League (MSL) status will count for nothing in this tie. The Red Eagles were plying their trade in the second tier just last year, and went to reach the Malaysia Cup final.

Negri Sembilan, who have failed to return to the top flight for the third time this season, have showed some fight in this competition and having progressed ahead of Malaysia Premier League (MPL) leaders Malacca and powerhouses Terengganu, Gary Phillips will be hoping that an extended run in the competition will provide assurance to his job.

Kedah will not have it all their own way against Negri Sembilan

Negri may keep their fingers crossed that Kedah, who have occasionally had off days, do not turn up in their best stride. On paper, however, Tan Cheng Hoe’s men are among the better squads in the competition and have proved their worth numerous times this year.

Prediction: Negri 1 Kedah 1
