Malaysia fall to all-time low in FIFA rankings

Malaysia have fallen to 174th in the FIFA world rankings, an historic low for the Harimau Malaya and on par with their previous worst-ever ranking in April 2014.

This follows two losses for Nelo Vingada's men earlier this month - both 4-1 defeats to North Korea in the Asian Cup qualifiers.

The Tigers also have not won in this calendar year

Malaysia are bottom of Group B with just one point after five matches and even with a win in their last fixture against Lebanon cannot qualify for the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2019.

The Tigers also have not won in this calendar year.

Neighbours Singapore, also on a torrid winless run of their own, are in 170th position, up three spots from last month - despite two defeats.

At 118th, the Philippines are the highest-ranked Southeast Asian nation, while Vietnam are second in 125th and Thailand sit 132nd.
