Malaysia Football Awards – FourFourTwo’s Most Promising Player

Last year’s runaway winner Matthew Davies is still eligible for the 2016 Most Promising Player award. Will the Pahang captain walk away with the award or could the likes of Safawi Rasid, Amirul Hisyam Awang Kechik and Haziq Nadzli win it on Friday?

Safawi Rasid (T-Team)

Virtually unknown prior to this season, Safawi's profile is expected to rise in the coming years after a splendid year for T-Team.

This season, the 19-year-old winger cemented a starting place at the Titans, starred for the Malaysian under-21 side at the mid-year Nations Cup and was handed his international debut against Indonesia by Ong Kim Swee.

Safawi was also among the few non-Harimau Muda players that represented the Malaysian under-19 squad last year. His rise has not gone unnoticed too, signing for Malaysia Super League (MSL) champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) this month.
