Malaysia’s best African imports: Part I
Like compatriot Mbouh (above), Tchoutang was an African Cup of Nations winner. He also played in two other editions as well as the 2001 Confederations Cup, where he scored a goal.
Tchoutang entertained the Darul Makmur fans. He was also named among Pahang's the best African imports by tokgajah.com.
Though smaller in size than the usual Africans that Malaysian teams tend to go for, Tchoutang was vital in the Elephants' temporary rise in the mid-2000s.
Tchoutang, who has also played in Holland, Belgium, Denmark and Ukraine, scored vital goals as Pahang won the FA Cup for the first time in 2006.
The East Coast side also finished runners-up to Perlis in the 2005 Malaysia Super League, with the Cameroonian scoring 12 times.
