MSL Transfer Update – Question marks linger over foreign imports

The wheeling and dealing of the Malaysia Super League (MSL) has started for weeks already but there is still plenty of deals yet to come, including the search for foreign players...

We are part of The Trust Project What is it?

Felda United

The Fighters, who finished runners-up in the 2016 MSL season, have been relatively quiet in the transfer window.

Poacher Thiago Fernandes is expected to return from a loan spell at Kedah but it remains to be seen which import will be dropped by new coach Azmi Mohamed.

Francis Forkey Doe fired in the goals while Lutfulla Turaev and Zah Rahan Krangar proved to be among the best midfield partnership around in 2016.

Felda need quality players to beef up the depth of the squad ahead of their AFC Cup participation next year.

Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT)

The Southern Tigers have already announced a few signings, most notably Nazmi Faiz Mansor, Syahrul Azwari and Malaysian under-22 custodian Haziq Nadzli.

Darren Lok could to be promoted from JDT II while the club is expected to seal the transfer of Safawi Rasid, Ahmad Hazwan Bakri and PKNS’ Gabriel Guerra in coming days.

Guerra’s arrival means JDT is set to part ways with either Jorge Pereyra Diaz or Juan Martín Lucero.

In June, the 23-year-old Guerra expressed his desire to play for JDT, something that could happen as early as next season.
