MSL Transfers: Figueroa and Diaz shocker as JDT start revealing their 2018 squad
OUT: Norshahrul Idlan Talaha
Felda coach B. Satiananthan has reportedly signed five new local players and released six but who these players are have not been revealed yet.
What is known however, is that Norshahrul has left to join Pahang while Ahmad Syamim Yahyah could move the other way for a return after just one season. Syamim played for Felda for three seasons before joining the Elephants last year.
Satiananthan was in Indonesia last week, presumably taking a look at Bali United's Dutch striker Sylvano Comvalius, who have been averaging over a goal a game in 2017.
But, the Fighters' top flight status is still in limbo as they failed to complete their club licensing.
JOHOR DARUL TA'ZIM
IN: Syamer Kutty Abba (Penang), Adam Nor Azlin (Selangor), Luciano Figueroa (free agent), Jorge Pereyra Diaz (Club Leon)
OUT: Azamuddin Akil, S. Chanthuru, R. Gopinanthan, Gonzalo Cabrera, Gabriel Guerra
The 2017 MSL winners have started confirming their transfers and while the capture of young talents Syamer and Adam was expected, the Southern Tigers stunned the country when they announced that Argentinean Figueroa was returning to the squad next season.
Figueroa won the 2015 AFC Cup with JDT and retired shortly after, but he has been in Johor Bahru as club ambassador for the past few months and seems to have convinced the coaches that he still has it in him.
Hariss Harun is also back while a certain Jorge Pereyra Diaz made a shocking return despite the relationship between club and player looking buried after an unceremonious exit in 2017. Mohamad Ghaddar is on the verge of joining Melaka United while Cabrera and Guerra left JDT on Monday.
OUT: Zachary Anderson, Ken Ilso, Fitri Omar , Syazuan Hazani, Farhan Abu Bakar
Imports Anderson and Ilso have already left while left-back Fitri Omar has joined MSL newcomers Terengganu. Youngsters Syazuan Hazani and Farhan Abu Bakar have joined third-tier PJ Rangers after failing to get much playing time in 2017.
The Red Eagles are also in talks with former JDT coach Mario Gomez to take charge in 2018 and more transfer activities are expected then.
