According to sources, the 129-cap veteran turned down offers from Thai League 1 and 2 to return to Malaysia.

Baihakki also underwent a trial with Saudi second division side Jeddah late last month and was on track to become the first Southeast Asian player to join a club in the Middle Eastern country.

Baihakki will become only the fourth Singaporean to don KL colours after Fandi Ahmad, Malek Awab and K Kannan

He was offered a four month contract with Jeddah with the option of an extension.

But having opted to join the City Boys, Baihakki will become only the fifth Singaporean to don KL colours after George Lee, Fandi Ahmad, Malek Awab and K Kannan.

He will face off against fellow Singaporeans Safuwan Baharudin (Pahang), Faris Ramli (PKNS), Shahdan Sulaiman (Melaka), Hariss Harun (Johor Darul Ta'zim) and Madhu Mohana (Negeri Sembilan) in the 2018 edition of the MSL.
