Aidil Zafuan dropped from Malaysia squad

Dollah Salleh has finalised his 22-man squad with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) captain Aidil Zafuan failing to make the cut for the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup.

Dollah made the announcement after losing 3-1 in their final pre-Suzuki Cup friendly in Vietnam on Sunday.

Aidil was dropped along with R. Gopinathan – despite having an outstanding season with Pahang – as both failed to recover from their respective injuries in time.

Kedah winger Farhan Roslan, who was voted the 2014 Best Young Player, and Kelantan’s Wan Zaharulnizam Wan Zakaria were axed as well, reportedly due to their lack of experience.

Razman Roslan and Nor Farhan Muhammad, who bagged the Best Defender and Best Striker awards respectively at the 2014 FAM 100-Plus National Football Awards, missed out as well.

Malaysia will kick off their Suzuki Cup campaign in Singapore on November 23.
