Dortmund announce Asian tour

Highlights of the trip include friendly matches against Japanese J-League club Kawasaki Frontale (July 7) and Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (July 9).
In Malaysia, the friendly match aside, Dortmund will cooperate with the Southern Tigers at the youth level and employ various methods to spread its footballing philosophy.
The club’s first trip to Asia since 2007 reflects their long-term internationalisation strategy, which has seen them open a BVB representative office in Singapore in October 2014.
“We’ve made it our goal to maintain close long-term ties to the people in the region and to learn from each other," said Borussia Dortmund’s Chief Executive Officer Hans-Joachim Watzke.
Carsten Cramer, Borussia Dortmund’s Director for Sales, Marketing and Business Development, added: “The people in Asia want the chance to see the stars first-hand, and this is a wish that we would like to take into account.
“The Bundesliga’s presence in Asian TV markets is increasing, which, in turn, will help us to become better known and more visible.”
Besides the likes of Marco Reus, Mats Hummels and Shinji Kagawa, club legends Karl-Heinz Riedle and Lars Ricken will also be among the Black and Yellow contingent on the tour.
