Harimau Malaya recall for Muslim Ahmad

PDRM captain Muslim Ahmad has returned to the international fold after he was called up by new national head coach Dollah Salleh for the Aug 8th friendly against Tajikistan.

The 25-year-old defender, who helped the Harimau Malaya to win the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup, had not been called up for international duty since playing in a 5-0 defeat to Australia in November 2013.

When FourFourTwo interviewed Muslim back in April 2014 regarding his international wilderness, he said: “It is disappointing that I have not been playing for the national team for the past two years.

“All I can do now is prove to the national team coach that I deserve to be called up again.”

Besides him and Sarawak winger S. Chanturu, Dollah Salleh called up the usual suspects for the national team, predominantly consisting players from Johor Darul Takzim such as Safiq Rahim, Safee Sali, Norshahrul Idlan Talaha and Amri Yahyah.

However, there were a few notable players who failed to make the cut, including Sarawak midfielder Junior Eldstal, Kelantan winger Wan Zaharulnizam, Perak captain Nasir Basharrudin, and Selangor's Nazmi Faiz and Shahrom Kalam.
