JDT and Felda in possible swap deal
With the clubs locked in a two-horse race for the Malaysia Super League (MSL) title, Irfan Bakti Abu Salim is hoping to hang on to the 21-year-old, but should the Southern Tigers be persistent in their interest, Felda are hoping that any potential move for the winger would at the same time enable them to strengthen their defence with Eldstal.
Hadin has already publicly announced his desire to join Mario Gomez’s side while ssdhaliwal.blogspot.com reported the Fighters have made their intention known to JDT over securing Eldstal’s services.
Irfan, however, told FourFourTwo that more needs to be put under consideration for the deal to proceed as Hadin is promising player and only just extended his contract until the end of next season.
“We need to look at the value of things. Hadin is an up and coming player and is worth a lot. He recently signed a contract extension too so I hope JDT’s interest in him cools off,” said Irfan.
“There have been talks about Hadin and Eldstal but nothing is concrete. I can’t say much about this because both clubs need to discuss further and come up with a solution that will appease everyone.
“We’ll have to see how things pan out between now and July 15 (window closes). In the meantime, I need to sort my import players. I’ll decide this week who to release.”
Hadin, who was once sacked by JDT, has been on fire this year with four league goals and was even tipped for the national team by Irfan.
The move may be a blessing in disguise for the Swedish-Malaysian Eldstal as he is among the fringe players in Johor. More playing time could get his career back on track after a series of injuries since last year.
The holding midfielder has been playing as a centre-back in recent times, a position Irfan could seek to strengthen should Felda part ways with Brazilian Gilberto Carlos.
The Fighters need to offload one import player after re-registering Thiago Fernandes for the second half of the Malaysian season.
MSL joint-leading top scorer Francis Forkey Doe, Liberian international Zah Rahan Krangar and Uzbek Lutfulla Turaev are the club’s other imports.
