JDT release Mat Yo
The Malaysian Super League champions confirmed on their official website on Wednesday that the 28-year-old will not be offered a fresh term.
“Coaches and the technical team have come up with the decision to let him go where he can play more football, as he had not been playing much here,” the statement said.
“This decision had been made during the beginning of the Malaysia Cup as part of our plans for the 2015 squad.
“Mat Yo is a fantastic player and a good man inside and outside the pitch, and we wish him all the very best for his career.”
Norshahrul, who joined the Southern Tigers from Kelantan in a controversial manner in 2013, failed to become a regular starter in 2014 as he played second fiddle to Argentine duo Luciano Figueroa and Jorge Pereyra Diaz.
He scored 13 goals in two years in all competitions for the club.
