Malaysia stay ahead of Singapore in FIFA rankings

The Harimau Malaya have moved up by one spot to 154th in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

After picking up vital victories against Singapore and Vietnam at the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup, they remain ahead of the likes of Singapore (157th), Indonesia (159th) and Laos (160th).

Thailand, their opponents at the Suzuki Cup final, also enjoyed an ascent up the table, finishing the year at 142nd, while the Philippines, Southeast Asia's highest ranked nation, dropped by two spots to 130th in the world.

No Asian Football Confederation (AFC) nations are represented in the top 50, with Iran just missing out in 51st place.

The top 20 teams of the world remain unchanged, with Germany being at the top of the FIFA rankings ahead of Argentina and Colombia.
