Piala Futsal iM4U Wrap: State Qualifying Rounds Begin
With 59 teams turning up, the Johor leg recorded the highest number of participating teams so far in the state qualifying rounds. FOS A, SSJ CF, IKM JB A, Songklek, Bakar Satu, A.B.S.A (B), Damai Vision, and Ablanz FC triumphed above the rest and secured their safe passage to the next round.
Other qualifying rounds in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Pahang and Selangor also concluded with high numbers of participants. The Negeri Sembilan leg, in particular, featured the first mixed team of four women and three guys.
A representative from iM4U commented that the overall turnout exceeded their expectations and hoped to see similar receptions in other states.
The state qualifying rounds will resume in Terengganu (Mar 14th), Sabah (Mar 15th), Sarawak (Mar 16th), Kedah (Mar 21st), Perlis (Mar 22nd), Perak (Mar 29) and Kuala Lumpur (Mar 30).
Organised by iM4U in partnership with Standard Chartered to unite the youth of Malaysia, the tournament offers lucrative prizes to the eventual winner, including the chance to represent Malaysia at the Standard Chartered Trophy Road to Anfield 2014 in Liverpool, England in May 2014.
