Selangor first Malaysian club to grace Singapore Sports Hub

Tampines Rovers will host Selangor at the National Stadium on May 10 in their final Group E game of the AFC Cup.

Selangor will become the first Malaysian club to play at the Singapore Sports Hub, after the Stags made the announcement on their Facebook page.

Tampines Rovers will face Selangor at the National Stadium on May 10 in their final AFC Cup Group E game, when the Stags may have already qualified for the next round.

The Red Giants were originally slated to play Tampines at Jalan Besar Stadium but the hosts managed to secure the permission required to switch venues.

The game will come three days after Selangor play host to a Singapore Selection side at the Shah Alam Stadium in the annual Sultan of Selangor Cup.

Tampines are currently on seven points in Group E with two wins and a draw from their three matches. Ceres La Salle from the Philippines are in second place on five points, one point ahead of third-placed Selangor.

Selangor might require maximum points from this fixture to advance to the last 16 and they will be hoping a switch of venue does not hamper their chances.
