TMJ congratulates Pahang

Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim congratulated Pahang after they defeated his team, Johor Darul Ta’zim in the 2014 Oppo Malaysia Cup final.

Pahang triumphed in the final on penalties after the match finished 2-2 in extra time, preventing the Southern Tigers from achieving a league and cup double.

Although it was a sad conclusion to their season, the President of Johor Football Association preferred to look on the bright side and praised his players and fans.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Pahang team for winning the Malaysia Cup two years in a row,” he wrote on JDT’s official website.

“I also would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the JDT players for giving their best.

“And saving the best for last, my highest gratitude and thank you to my fellow Johoreans for always been there for our beloved team, regardless of whatever challenges.

“Thank you for always standing united as Johoreans and supporting the team that we are proud of and the team that we love.

"It would have been great if we had won tonight, but we should accept the results and move forward because life goes on."
