NEW YORK - All but one of the NFL's 31 stadiums are on a list of potential World Cup venues as part of the U.S. bid for the 2018 or 2022 finals, the country's football federation said on Thursday. The San Francisco 49ers' Candlestick Park (pictured) was the only NFL venue which not listed as a candidate stadium. The bid team has had confirmation of interest from a total of 58 venues, including college sports stadiums. "We are very pleased by the impressive response, and are certainly gratified by the enthusiasm and thorough understanding everyone has shown for this unique opportunity," David Downs, executive director for the USA Bid Committee, said in a statement. The U.S. hosted the World Cup in 1994. Organisers have said that no decision on specific venues will be made until after the bid process is complete.
