Algeria to play Ireland in World Cup warm-up

ALGIERS - Algeria will attend a pre-World Cup training camp in Italy and have organised a friendly against the Republic of Ireland before heading to South Africa in June.

The Algerian Football Federation said it had arranged a friendly international in Dublin on May 29 and the side would also play another warm-up match in Algiers on June 5 against a yet-to-be finalised opponent.

The Algerians would prepare for the World Cup at the Italian Football Federation's centre at Coverciano in Florence from May 20-28, the federation announced on its website.

Algeria's opening Group C game is against Slovenia on June 13 in Polokwane.

They next meet England in Cape Town on June 18 and the USA in Pretoria five days later.
