Bari and Cagliari fined for fan lasers

MILAN - Serie A sides Cagliari and Bari have been fined 15,000 and 10,000 euros respectively after fans shone lasers at opposition players at the weekend, the Italian league said in a statement on Tuesday.

Juventus playmaker Diego had a laser shone in his eye before missing a penalty in their 3-1 defeat in Bari but later said it did not affect him taking the kick.

The use of lasers by fans has become a growing problem in Italian football and pundits have called on authorities to do more than just fine clubs.
