Barrow draw Boro in pick of FA Cup ties

Non-league Barrow have been handed the pick of the FA Cup Third Round draws with a trip to the Riverside Stadium to face Premier League Middlesbrough their reward for seeing off League 2 Brentford on Friday night. Conference high-fliers Histon, who beat League 1 Leeds at a sodden Glassworld Stadium on Sunday lunchtime (pictured), will play Championship side Swansea City at home. Fellow non-league outfit Eastwood Town have a mouthwatering trip to nearby Notts County to look forward to, providing the Magpies can successfully negotiate a Second Round replay away to Conference side Kettering.   FA Cup holders Portsmouth will begin their defence with a third round tie at home to Bristol City after the draw was made on Sunday. Portsmouth, who won the Cup last year for the first time since 1939, joined the rest of the Premier League clubs in the draw which also included minor league side Histon after their shock defeat of Leeds United in the second round on Sunday. The favorites for the competition were kept apart with Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool all handed comfortable looking ties. Chelsea host League One Southend United, Arsenal are at home to Championship Plymouth Argyle while Manchester United go to Championship side Southampton. Liverpool are are Preston North End. The draw produced only three all-Premier League clashes with Tottenham Hotspur at home to Wigan Athletic, Hull City hosting Newcastle United and struggling Sunderland at home to Bolton Wanderers who they were thrashed by 4-1 at home on Saturday.
