Bendtner fined for nightclub antics

Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner has been slapped with a club fine following his behaviour after Tuesday night’s Champions League semi-final defeat to Manchester United.   The Danish striker, who came on in the second half of the 3-1 defeat to Sir Alex Ferguson's side, was photographed exiting a nightclub, looking a little worse for wear, in the early hours of Wednesday morning with his trousers pulled down.

And manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the 21-year-old has been fined for his unacceptable behaviour.

However, the former Birmingham loanee is expected to be named in the squad to face fellow Champions League losers Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

“It was not acceptable and he has been fined by the Club,” said Wenger.
