TORSHAVN - The Faroe Islands have hired former Ireland boss Brian Kerr as coach of the Atlantic island nation's football team. Kerr, 56, who coached Ireland between 2003 and 2005, has signed a two and a half year contract, the Faroese Football Association said in a statement. "I know it is difficult for the Faroe Islands to win international matches, but I like the challenge as an underdog," the Irishman said.
