Bulgarian side offered animal as win incentive

SOFIA - Bulgarian club Beroe Stara Zagora will receive the unusual bonus of a calf if they beat favourites CSKA Sofia in their domestic Cup quarter-final, state news agency BTA reported on Monday.

If they win on Wednesday, it will be the second time this month the cash-strapped club's efforts have been rewarded by gifts of animals from local businessman Boyan Stankov, who gave them three lambs after a 0-0 draw against CSKA in the league.

Beroe, the 1986 Bulgarian champions, will be hoping for a repeat of their performance three years ago when they knocked CSKA out of the Cup with a 119th-minute winner to reach the semi-finals.
