Real Madrid will announce today that Lassana Diarra is their man after the midfielder passed a medical wih the Spanish giants. Pompey had already accepted Madrid's offer - believed to be an eye-watering £20m or so, money the up-for-sale club could well use at the moment. Despite rumoured late interest from Manchester City, who are inevitably linked with every big-name transfer, Diarra has decided to join the Spanish champions. Real Madrid will become his fourth club in 18 months. He left Chelsea for Arsenal in August 2007 but was taken to Pompey by Harry Redknapp in last January's transfer window.
