Elia set to snub England for Ajax
The 22-year-old former Den Haag forward has netted 11 league goals in 64 appearances for ex-England boss Steve McClaren's side since arriving in 2007, and impressed in Twente's UEFA Cup tie with Manchester City last season.
His form had led to reported interest in the youngster's services from Mark Hughes' Blues, as well as Everton, Spurs and Bayern Munich in Germany.
However, Elia is now expected to snub them all in favour of staying in Holland and joining Ajax - now managed by former Tottenham and Hamburg boss Martin Jol.
Elia has yet to make his international debut for the Netherlands, but has already represented his country at U21 and B level.
