SYDNEY - A hamstring injury has forced Australia midfielder Brett Emerton to withdraw from Wednesday's World Cup qualifier in Bahrain. The Australian team's medical staff advised Emerton not to travel to Bahrain after the injury prevented him from lining up for Blackburn Rovers in the English Premier League on Saturday. The Football Federation of Australia also announced defender Mark Milligan had been ruled out because of an Achilles injury, joining the already-sidelined Vince Grella (hamstring) and Matthew Spiranovic (ankle). Defender Craig Moore has undergone surgery for testicular cancer. Despite the withdrawals, the Australians are still favourites to win the match as they lead the five-team Asian Group A standings with six points from two matches while Bahrain have only picked up a solitary point.
