Europa League: Kazan clash to start early

MOSCOW - Rubin Kazan's Europa League last 32 first-leg tie against Israel's Hapoel Tel Aviv on Thursday has been brought forward by four hours to combat worsening weather conditions, the Russian club said on Wednesday.

"After consultations with both clubs, the UEFA commission has decided to shift the kick off from 6pm to 2pm GMT because of possible bad weather," the Russian champions said on their website.

Kazan, the city near the Volga River, 800 km east of Moscow, is known for its harsh winters, with a cold front sweeping through the region this month.
