Walsall have sacked midfielder Ishmel Demontagnac, after the former Charlton trainee was found to have made several serious breaches of club discipline. Demontagnac, 20, was sent off just eight minutes after coming on as a substitute in Saturday’s FA Cup First Round defeat to Scunthorpe and Sadlers manager Jimmy Mullen criticised the player for letting his team-mates down. “It’s the culmination of three years of indiscipline," Mullen said. "The lad is a fantastic talent who, on his day, could open up any defence. That’s why it is a complete and utter shame that it has been necessary to take this course of action.” A statement on the club’s official website read: “The decision has been taken as a result of serious breaches of club discipline culminating in an incident at the weekend which required the intervention of West Midlands Police and resulted in his subsequent arrest.”
