Fulham to discuss new Hangeland deal
The 6ft 5in stopper has made 56 league appearances since arriving in January 2008, with the 28-year-old's rock-solid form last season helping the West Londoners seal a Europa League place, 12 months after avoiding relegation on the final day of the campaign.
As a result, the Norwegian international - who has featured 53 times for his country - was linked with moves to Aston Villa, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal during the close-season.
However, the summer transfer window opened and closed again with the much sought-after stopper going no-where.
And Hodgson says he expects the club's officials to sit down with the player's agent in the coming weeks in order to try and tie the defender down to a new long-term deal at Craven Cottage.
"I believe Hangeland's agent, who has been waiting until the end of the transfer window, is quite keen to sit down with the chief executive to discuss his contract," he said on skysports.com.
