BERLIN - Eintracht Frankfurt will part ways with coach Friedhelm Funkel at the end of the season after a run of disappointing results, the coach said on Thursday. Funkel, who took over in 2004 and signed a contract extension in February, was under pressure after his team collected only three wins in 16 matches since the winter break and slipped to 13th place in the Bundesliga. "I have talked with the club president and asked him to terminate my contract as of June 30," Funkel told reporters. The 55-year-old former Cologne and Hansa Rostock coach said he would be on the bench for the final match of the season against Hamburg SV on Saturday. "Then I will go on holidays and think of my future," he said.
