MADRID - Getafe coach Michel has been rewarded for saving them from relegation with a two-year contract, the Primera Liga club said on their website on Monday. The former Spain and Real Madrid midfielder, 46, took over from Victor Munoz in April until the end of the season. The side were one point above the bottom three with five games left. The 1-1 draw at Racing Santander on Sunday left them level on points with 18th-placed Real Betis but saved by their superior goal difference. Michel won 66 caps for Spain. His only previous coaching experience was with Rayo Vallecano and Real Madrid Castilla in the lower divisions.
