Gilardino denies Melo exit talk
The newspaper claimed that the Italian striker said: “I have not spoken with Melo directly. He played well against Italy and he is an excellent player, but I have the feeling he will be sold.”
However, Gilardino was quick to deny that he had made any comments regarding the future of the in-demand Brazilian midfielder, retorting:
“I didn’t issue any statement about Felipe [Melo]. From my part, this is totally wrong.”
Regardless of Gilardino's view, Melo's future remains unclear after an impressive Confederation's Cup campaign.
With Arsenal, Real Madrid and AC Milan interested it remains to be seen where he will start next season.
