BERLIN - Brazilian striker Grafite has been named Germany's footballer of the year after his prolific tally of 28 goals in 25 Bundesliga games helped VfL Wolfsburg win the title last season. Mario Gomez, who played for VfB Stuttgart last season and has since moved to Bayern, was second and Grafite's Bosnian striking partner Edin Dzeko third in the poll conducted jointly by Kicker magazine and the German Sports' Writers Association. Wolfburg's title also earned Felix Magath - now at Schalke 04 -- the coach of the year award for the third time.
