Injured Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has flown to the United States to consult the surgeon who operated on his troublesome right knee in 2000, the Primera Liga champions said. The 32-year-old Dutchman was hurt last month before returning to play most of last Wednesday's 2-0 home defeat by Juventus. But a scan appeared to show an aggravation of the injury that threatened to end his career eight years ago. Van Nistelrooy has travelled to the U.S. to get a second opinion from American doctor Richard Steadman who operated on him while he was at PSV Eindhoven, Real said on their website.
