Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler will not be joining Liverpool this summer, according to the player's agent. The Swiss international has made 43 league appearances for the Serie A side since arriving from FC Zurich in 2007, and has already been linked with a move to Arsenal during the close-season, with manager Arsene Wenger keen on adding some steel to his midfield ahead of the new campaign. Earlier this month, the player's representitive Dino Lamberti revealed that the Frenchman had shelved plans to sign the 25-year-old, with Brazilian international Felipe Melo believed to be higher up on the Gunners' wish-list prior to his move to Juventus. And Lamberti has now also moved to quash reports suggesting Inler is on his way to Anfield. "I have heard something, but I have never been contacted by Liverpool," he told Mediterraneonline.it. "Inler is very happy at Udinese and I am convinced this will be an important year for him. He will not leave unless a concrete offer arrives. "Liverpool did speak with Udinese last year, but for now it's only rumours." NEWS: Inler no longer wanted by Arsenal NEWS: Inler unaware of Arsenal interest
